The summary meeting on the implementation of 7 pilot models for the first crop, part of the 1-million-hectare low-emission, high-quality rice project, was held at the model field in Tran De, Soc Trang.

On September 5, 2024, a summary meeting was held in Trần Đề district, Sóc Trăng to review the implementation of 7 pilot models for the first crop under the "1 Million Hectares of High-Quality Low-Emission Rice" project in the Mekong Delta. This project aims to promote sustainable agriculture, minimize environmental impacts, and increase farmers' incomes.

During the meeting, participants discussed and assessed the results of the first summer-autumn rice crop. Although the summer-autumn season typically faces more challenges compared to the winter-spring crop, the pilot models exceeded expectations in terms of production targets. The rice yield was high, meeting both quality and low-emission standards. This is a positive sign, reaffirming the effectiveness of applying scientific and technical solutions in agriculture.

According to Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tâm, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Sóc Trăng, the success of these models is an important foundation for expanding their application on a larger scale in the future. The goal is not only to enhance rice quality but also to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with the national strategy for green and sustainable agricultural development.

The summary meeting acknowledged the active contributions of farmers participating in the project and highlighted the crucial role of science and technology in improving the value of rice, protecting the environment, and moving towards modern, sustainable agriculture.
